Introduction - written and oral Torahs

The written and oral Torahs

The history of the Jewish people goes back perhaps some six thousand years. Of particular interest today is the study of Jewish law some two thousand years after the resurrection of the Messisah.

So, to get straight to it, we pose the question:

Where has Judaism gone so astray since the time of Christ?

There is a considerable amount of information which is available for study and analysis. And, as was the case with Paul's bogus doctrine, one could wade through it all and critique it as one went along - a major undertaking sufficient to strike fear into the noblest heart! However, there is an alternative approach which cuts through the waffle and self-proclaimed authority of the self-styled 'experts', and which therefore appeals to my own Gentile origin! So, without further ado, let's take the Plumb-Line and Measuring-Line in hand, and see if we can short-circuit their defilement of the Covenant and blow it straight to Hell, along with everyone who subscribes to their lies!

Be aware that the Lord doesn't want anyone to perish, certainly in the current context of discussion. And so He has left the door ajar for all who repent and return to Him:

[32] For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live! (Ezekiel 18:32 NIV)
[14] “Return, faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband. I will choose you---one from a town and two from a clan---and bring you to Zion.
[15] Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. (Jeremiah 3:14-15 NIV)

Note the blessings which follow those who return to the Lord! The context is clearly the current one, for Israel's return will be accompanied by the appointment of shepherds after His own heart: shepherds who are Priests in the Order of Melchizedek. Wow!

Required

A reminder of the things which will be required for any critique of contemporary Judaism:

Although the list appears to contain separate items, they are interlinked and interlocking:

Notes:

Why the 'Required'?

Because seeing and understanding what is, helps to illuminate and highlight what is not!

Oral Torah

The preferred torah of the Jews.

Tradition-based.

Condemned to Hell by Jesus:

[1] Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, [2] “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!”
[3] Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? [4] For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.' [5] But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is 'devoted to God,' [6] they are not to 'honor their father or mother' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. [7] You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
[8] “'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. [9] They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.'” (Matthew 15:1-9 NIV)
[1] The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus [2] and saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed. [3] (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders. [4] When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.)
[5] So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?”
[6] He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
“'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. [7] They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.' [8] You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
[9] And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! [10] For Moses said, 'Honor your father and mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.' [11] But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)--- [12] then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. [13] Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” (Mark 7:1-13 NIV)

Jesus' words, as recorded by Matthew and Mark, require no embellishment! They are direct, transparent, and clear. Reject them at your peril!

Written Torah

Restricted to the five books of Moses.

Takes no account of the other books in the Scriptures.

Not maintained and updated. Treated as a fixed entity cast in stone.

Omits all subsequent amendments to the Covenant.

Defiled by Pharisees and teachers of the law, who prefer the traditions of men over the commands of God.

Neither understood nor believed what Moses wrote:

[45] “But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. [46] If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. [47] But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?” (John 5:45-47 NIV)

Consequently, they stand accused by Moses on the Day of Judgement.

Paul's law

Adherents to Paul's doctrine - whether Jew or Gentile Christians - take the Bible as their source and absolute authority, affirming it to be error free. Which is strange, considering that the Lord endorsed the Old Testament books, but never endorsed every New Testament book.

Recall, from Prime Axioms, that the Most High will never accept a blemished sacrifice or offering. necessarily, therefore, these people are in danger of Death.

It isn't hard to see why the 'Sword of Damocles' hangs over their necks! These people have put their trust in a corrupt doctrine which they attribute directly to the Lord and the Lord Spirt. In early times, they may have escaped guilt due to their ignorance:

[41] Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains. (John 9:41 NIV)

But now, with the exposure of Paul's evil doctrine, their refusal shifts their sin from 'unintentional' to 'defiant'. What follows is their automatic removal from the Book of Life, and their banishment from the Covenant and God's People. The outcome is Death. However, for those who attribute Paul's evil to the direction and authority of the Lord Spirit, their sin becomes unforgivable, and consequently their names are entered into the Blacklist.

The alarming aspect to this is that the Lord, under the terms of the Covenant, is not obligated to notify them of any change in their status. It is only on the Day of Judgement, when they step up into the dock, full of their own efforts and achievements, that the trap they fell into is finally sprung:

[21] “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' [23] Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' (Matthew 7:21-23 NIV)

Notice that Jesus doesn't debate the matter. He has the complete documentation at His fingertips: Books of Record, the Blacklist, and the Book of Life. They get short shrift from the Lord, and are quickly taken down from the dock.

This is the Court of No Appeal, so verdict and sentence stand...

Perception

Deal kindly with Your servant,
that I may live to keep Your word.
Open my eyes, that I may perceive
the wonders of Your teaching.
Psalms 119:17-18 (Tanakh)

Moralism: see the rule, but not the intention at the Spiritual Level. Then pass judgement.

The preference is for the oral torah defined by men rather than obedience to the commands and words of God.

The blindness exhibited by the Pharisees and teachers of the law, is also to be found in Paul's writings. After all, it was they who had trained Paul!

Redirect

For those not already Blacklisted, redemption may be found by letting go of whichever false doctrine has held one in thrall, and turning to the Messianically Amended Covenant. This is going to take time and effort, for the MessianicallyAmendedCovenant operates at the Spiritual Level. It means going back to basics, starting with the Covenant as understood by Moses.

All previous claims to qualifications, office, authority, and expertise must be thrown in the trash. It is truly humbling! Doubtless, many will balk. Jesus explained just how humbling:

[15] "Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” (Mark 10:15 NIV)

Moreover, there is always a danger that at times of stress or inattention one may revert to an earlier false doctrine with which one is more familiar.
