The Covenant

The Citadel and the Tower of David in Jerusalem at night

The Citadel and the Tower of David in Jerusalem at night.

In the last days
the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

Many nations will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths."

The Law will go out from Zion,
the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Micah 4:1-2 NIV

Introduction

Broadly speaking, there are two covenants in operation today:

  1. The corrupt version of the Mosaic Covenant, held to by the House of Desolation who disavow their Messiah.
  2. Paul's evil new-covenant, which he attributed to the authority, power, and guidance of the Lord Spirit.

Then there is the small group of Messianic Jews who fall between those two extremes. Wedded to the House of Desolation's Covenant with Death and the corrupt Bible of the new-covenant church, they lack identity, direction, and sound doctrine.

[ Not to be confused with those Jews who hold to the Messianically Amended Covenant.]

Thematic change

One way or another, for the past two thousand or so years, the Flock have been tended by false shepherds who've led them astray and who have feasted on their bones. The situation is even worse than it was in Ezekiel's day!

23 The word of the LORD came to me:
24 O mortal, say to her [the House of Israel]:
You are an uncleansed land, not to be washed with rain on the day of indignation. 25 Her gang of prophets are like roaring lions in her midst, rending prey. They devour human beings; they seize treasure and wealth; they have widowed many women in her midst. 26 Her priests have violated My Teaching: they have profaned what is sacred to Me, they have not distinguished between the sacred and the profane, they have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have closed their eyes to My sabbaths. I am profaned in their midst. 27 Her officials are like wolves rending prey in her midst; they shed blood and destroy lives to win ill-gotten gain. 28 Her prophets, too, daub the wall for them with plaster: They prophesy falsely and divine deceitfully for them; they say, “Thus said the Lord GOD," when the LORD has not spoken. 29 And the people of the land have practiced fraud and committed robbery; they have wronged the poor and needy, have defrauded the stranger without redress. 30 And I sought a man among them to repair the wall or to stand in the breach before Me in behalf of this land, that I might not destroy it; but I found none. 31 I have therefore poured out My indignation upon them; I will consume them with the fire of My fury. I will repay them for their conduct —
declares the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 22:23-31 (Tanakh))

Even now, the Lord stands in the breached wall around Jerusalem, surveying the carnage...

Failure of the church

By 'failed church' is meant those associated with the:
  1. House of Desolation [and their covenant with Death]
  2. Messianic Jews
  3. New-covenant church
  4. House of Esau
  5. Arabs [overtaken by Islam in C7]

[ Religion in pre-Islamic Arabia]

Esau18C was Jacob's twin brother. Therefore, it was necessary to include the House of Esau in the discussion. In Scripture, they are directly linked to the House of Israel (eg, Obadiah).

Traditionally, the Arabs are descended from Ishmael19C (Wikipedia qv). Islam developed in the early C7 (Britannica qv). Again, the family relationship necessitates their inclusion in the discussion.

Thematic change

Currently, as I write this (10-Nov-2024), the Messianically Amended Covenant exists only at the Spiritual Level. As yet, there is no infracture in place for worship - but this will change with the rebuilding of David's Fallen Tent:

[11] "In that day I will restore David's fallen tent. I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins, and build it as it used to be, (Amos 9:11 NIV)

Current Esau/Arab problem

Esau: Obadiah.
Arabs: Arabs.

As mentioned above (Church Failure), the House of Esau and the Arab nations have direct family links to the House of Israel. Although, today, we may have trouble distinguishing between those of Arab descent and those of the House of Esau, with their common Semitic origins they exist as brothers to the House of Israel. And this is how they will be treated here - at the Physical Level and at the Spiritual Level. The precedent is clearly established in the Book of Obadiah with regard to the House of Esau (qv).

Arab intentions against Jerusalem and the House of Israel, are recorded in the Book of Nehemiah:

1 When Sanballat and Tobiah, and the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that healing had come to the walls of Jerusalem, that the breached parts had begun to be filled, it angered them very much, 2 and they all conspired together to come and fight against Jerusalem and to throw it into confusion.
3 Because of them we prayed to our God, and set up a watch over them day and night.
4 Judah was saying,
“The strength of the basket-carrier has failed,
And there is so much rubble;
We are not able ourselves
To rebuild the wall.”
5 And our foes were saying,
“Before they know or see it, we shall be in among them and kill them, and put a stop to the work.” 6 When the Jews living near them would arrive, they would tell us time and again "- from all the places where-you shall come back to us"
(Nehemiah 4:1-6 (Tanakh))

[Dissertation: Nothing has changed since the time of Nehemiah; rather, Arab intentions against the House of Israel have become worse. The Arabs are so aligned with the House of Esau, that the Arabs will be subject to the same punishment - namely 'Death' - as the House of Esau.]

Thematic change

The only hope for those of the House of Esau or those who are Arabs, is to genuinely repent and sign the Messianically Amended Covenant Contract. Here are some clues:

11 In that day [when David's Fallen Tent is rebuilt], I will set up again the fallen booth of David: I will mend its breaches and set up its ruins anew. I will build it firm as in the days of old, 12 So that they shall possess the rest of Edom And all the nations once attached to My name —declares the LORD who will bring this to pass. (Amos 9:11-12 (Tanakh))

Also:
16 In that day [when David's Fallen Tent is rebuilt], the Egyptians shall be like women, trembling and terrified because the LORD of Hosts will raise His hand against them. 17 And the land of Judah shall also be the dread of the Egyptians; they shall quake whenever anybody mentions it to them, because of what the LORD of Hosts is planning against them. 18 In that day, there shall be several towns in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan and swearing loyalty to the LORD of Hosts; one shall be called 'Town of Heres'.
19 In that day, there shall be an altar to the LORD inside the land of Egypt and a pillar to the LORD at its border. 20 They shall serve as a symbol and reminder of the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt, so that when [the Egyptians] cry out to the LORD against oppressors, He will send them a savior and champion to deliver them. 21 For the LORD will make Himself known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall acknowledge the LORD in that day, and they shall serve [Him] with sacrifice and oblation and shall make vows to the LORD and fulfill them. 22 The LORD will first afflict and then heal the Egyptians; when they turn back to the LORD, He will respond to their entreaties and heal them.
23 In that day, there shall be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians shall join with the Egyptians and Egyptians with the Assyrians, and then the Egyptians together with the Assyrians shall serve [the LORD].
24 In that day, Israel shall be a third partner with Egypt and Assyria as a blessing on earth; 25 for the LORD of Hosts will bless them, saying, “Blessed be My people Egypt, My handiwork Assyria, and My very own Israel.”
(Isaiah 19:16-25 (Tanakh))

Also:
21 For liberators shall march up on Mount Zion to wreak judgment on Mount Esau; and dominion shall be the LORD's.
(Obadiah 1:21 (Tanakh))

[ These 'liberators' will be priests in the Order of Melchizedek, since they will be the only ones qualified.]
